Performance Task:

 

 

As a class you will construct a world map.  Your group will be given a section of the world. Basically your teacher will give you a square with latitude and longitude.

Your first step is to draw your section of the world using latitude and longitude for correct position.  For your section of the world, label cities, countries, and oceans.

 

 

 

Knowledge / Skills:

 

 

Use the technique of dimensional analysis to convert units of measure (e.g., convert km/hr to m/min).  Understand and use various techniques for estimating, making and converting measure; and using these to perform dimensional analysis.  M.33

Participate, sometimes leading, in group meetings by contributing, taking turns speaking, and working toward a common goal.  ELA.20

Understand and use graphs, charts, and visuals to enhance informational writing and oral presentations.  ELA.29

4 POINTS:  Worked cooperatively in the group to complete task with 100% accuracy.

 

 

3 POINTS:  Worked cooperatively in the group to complete task;  had only 90% of all sites labeled and in the correct place.

 

 

2 POINTS:  Worked intermittently in the group and labeled 80% of the sites correctly.

 

 

1  POINT:   Worked intermittently in the group and did not complete the task.
