Darrel works for an international travel
agency. His specific job is to
research interesting places for nature expeditions and to store that
information in a computer so it can be used to prepare a travel brochure. Your task is to identify
and carefully research a selected biome to entice a traveler to visit it. A
biome is a complex biotic community characterized by distinctive plant and
animal species. Identify a specific
place in the biome and find information about it that will entice a
traveler to visit it. This
information should include the following aspects of your specific place:
- plants and animals present
- climate
- land forms
- places of interest
- specific features (e.g.,
permafrost is a specific feature of a tundra)
Find interesting pictures that might also be included in the brochure. Write two or three paragraphs giving a
general description of the biome, encouraging a perspective reader to visit
the place you identified. Put all
your information into a computer and scan appropriate pictures which will
enable one of Darrel's co-workers to prepare the travel brochure.
