4 Points =
The student shows an understanding of how to design a scientific
study. He/she demonstrates ability to collect, organize, and analyze data
to formulate conclusions. The student makes at least three conclusions as a
result of the inquiry.
3 Points = The student needs some coaching to
design an effective scientific study. He/she has some minor difficulty
collecting, organizing, and analyzing the data to formulate conclusions.
The student is able to make only one or two meaningful conclusions as a
result of the inquiry.
2 Points = The student demonstrates little
understanding of designing a scientific study. Data are incomplete and
poorly organized. The data analysis does not result in any meaningful
conclusions.
1 Point = The student is unable to complete the task. He/she
demonstrates no understanding of designing a scientific study. The student
is unable to make any conclusions.
