Performance Task:

 

 

You are at home alone with your little sister or brother. The emergency broadcast announces that a tornado* has been sighted and is headed your way. Give a description of your home and list the key things that you would do to protect you and your sister or brother. Describe, in order, the steps that you would take to secure your safety and that of your sister or brother. Write a brief paragraph of what you would do after the tornado struck.

Note to the teacher: This task could be changed to a hurricane, blizzard, flood, etc. depending on the type of weather disaster your area might encounter.

Plan and apply real or hypothetical models and constructions to facilitate investigation and learning and the solution to practical problems.  (xs2)
